Take a peak at some of our team
Susan founded Phoenix MRC in 1994 to fulfil an ethos of marketing and research – a passion for high quality, fit-for-purpose market research and a belief in the enabling role of the agency through delivering service as promised on time and on budget.
Although originally from the USA where Susan completed her first degree at Bryn Mawr, she has lived in the UK all her adult life, having completed a doctorate in experimental psychology at Oxford University. Work in marketing started first at the iconic Schlackman’s, then AC Nielson and then as founding partner in Consumer Profile Research, finally going on to form Phoenix MRC with very clear ideas about the sort of consultancy she wanted to create.
Susan's experience is broad – spanning public and private sectors, major insurance companies, banks, building societies and household names in food, drinks, clothing, high street retailers, well known management consultancies and international advertising agencies, amongst others. Key areas of expertise are in creative, market-oriented project design, analysis and market insight, modelling for brand and price positioning, branding and communications. Dr Susan Owen is a certified member of the MRS (Membership Number 2001653).
